Medium Term Planning

I made it to 15,000 pageviews.... Everybody celebrate.

*victory dance*
Hell yeah, smashing these milestones. My next milestone will probably be 20,000 pageviews or 1000 blogs, which will come first? Who knows? I'm sure to let you know either way!!

Today, I met my year 1 partner teacher and we got the whole day to medium term plan and get to know each other. I had a lot of fun and she's so laid back and easy to get on with that I know I'm in safe hands. I'm nervous as hell to have my own class and not have snyone else to look to when I'm teaching but my first ever half term topic is Superheroes... I don't know about you but that is awesome and makes me want to be the one doing the work.
The topic Superheroes is going to be where we plan all our lessons so that our literacy lessons are all based around superheroes, which is so exciting. There's a lot to do and just the mention of assessment folders and levels today made me feel a little sick.
I also had to have a picture taken today to show the little Receptions who I am before they come to me so they can transition more smoothly. I don't know how friendly I looked in the picture but I hope they think I look nice.

I actually can't wait to meet my new little people next week!! I'm sure I'll bog about it!!

I've had a good day except for the buses taking forever to come. Hate public transport. The sooner I start my job and have money to learn to drive, the better.

Love you all
Don't forget if you haven't voted in my poll, please do now. Cheeeeeers

Motivational Monday #52

The weather this week is so on and off and I just wish there was brilliant sunshine rather than this half and half cloudy/sunshine crap! It makes everyone feel better when the sun shines and I can sunbathe to top up my tan. But, speaking of topping up a tan, I was in the sunshine the other day and unfortunately got a little burnt, but since I got burnt my chest has developed an itchy rash and it hasn't gone away in days. I don't know what it is or why it is there but it's annoying. Has anyone else had a rash develop as sun burn? I've never experienced it before and don't know if it's significant.

If anyone knows what it might be, please let me know in the comments below, I'd love to know...
Okay, so Motivational Monday message from me today is something that I think everyone needs to learn and no matter how many times life throws you a curveball, you have to constantly remind yourself of this message. Life is not perfect and you can't be perfect either. No matter how good you think you are at something, you will never be perfect. I had to learn failing this quite quickly with teaching and at uni because I'm not very good at accepting being a failure. I hate  and I hate not doing my very best but I have come to realise that my best is perfection- my best is taking the situation you're in, doing everything you could possibly do with what you have and achieving despite that.

I find it hard to accept myself when I do something wrong or I do something that isn't quite up to scratch and I have to remind myself that I am only human, I have a fair bit of drama going on in my life but I'm still striving to achieve and be the best I can be. It reminds me of the old saying about when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. The whole idea that just because life has given you an obstacle, doesn't mean you should let it stop you, you just need to find a different way of making the obstacle a positive.
I'm doing that at the moment but I like the message above more than the original quote because changing your plans doesn't necessarily need to be just thinking about one solution, it's about taking your life and thinking about what you can do to make it better- which could be more than one thing. It's about looking on the positive side of something negative and emitting positivity to allow it to reproduce in your life.

Don't just let life bowl you over and hand to you what you think you should lie down and take. Make sure that you take those experiences when you feel disappointed and negative and turn them around to make them positive and make a difference. You need to get up, focus and do something to fix whatever has gone wrong- there's always a second chance.
Make the most out of a bad situation or experience.

This is another pep talk to me but I hope that if it does resonate with you and your life that you take something from this- don't let your bad experiences define you, reformulate them and make them better. You are resilient and you need to pull yourself back up to try again.

LOVE YOU!!!

Decisions To Be Made!

On this lazy Saturday, I have been thinking about what I should with my hair. I had my hair long for ages when I was a child and then I took the plunge for charity to have my hair cut really short- 11 inches off to be exact. Since then, about a year and a half ago, I have maintained my short hair but now it has got to a length that is so inbetween that I have no idea what I should do with it.
Bearing in mind my hair is curly hair, it is longer when it is straight-
I also was dressing up for a fancy dress party!
I am going on holiday soon and I want to get it cut but I'm not sure how I should get it cut- should I go short again or let it grow with a few layers put in for some volume?! Let me know. I'm going to put some pictures up and then you can decide with a cheeky poll at the end.

Short Hair

Long Hair.

DECIDEEE!

How should I have my hair?

Happy 4th July!

Now, I'm not American and therefore do not celebrate this holiday but I wanted to wish all American's a happy 4th July and hope they have/have had a brilliant day. It's such a strong historical moment and I'm glad that they still celebrate their achievements in such a patriotic way. I wish that traditional holidays in the UK were celebrated more and that we appreciated our history. It feels like America always goes bigger and better when it comes to celebrating- Halloween and Christmas. It makes me jealous!!

For me, I've had an awesome day. I spent the day with my two sisters and little nephew in the sunshine. It's been so good to not have to worry about work and just settle! It's fun. We went into Toys R Us and I'm so determined to buy my two little nephews a little electric car for Christmas! I saw a hot red Ferrari for £250 that I could just see little Max driving around in like the little cool dude he is!

Summer is good and I'm completely enjoying all the free time I have off. Especially now I get to spend the days with my two sisters off work!

It's FRIDAYYYYY! I hope you've had a good working week and if you haven't, don't worry because it's the weekend....

Things To Remember For Holiday

Now, there are only 19 days until I go on holiday and today I ticked off one of the most important things that I need to remember to get before I go on holiday. When I did this, I thought to myself, wouldn't it be good to write a blog about what you need to remember for holiday. Incase any of you need the help to remember some of the most important things. Now, this blog is not going to be a checklist, simpy because I don't have time to write out a list for what I need to take but I thought I'd give a little reminder for those things that aren't necessarily on the forefront of your mind:

1. Travel Insurance
I know many of people think they don't need travel insurance because it's a waste of money but I have had many accounts during my family holidays where travel insurance has come in so much use. For example, when we went to Disneyland Florida one year when I was little, my sister was rushed to hospital with appendicitis and had to have an emergency operation to save her life and have her appendix removed. This whole thing cost thousands of pounds that my parents didn't have to pay because they had travel insurance. Some people think that it is just for if you have an accident but something such as appendicitis is covered and it's so important to remember it!
Take the documents with you, as well!!

2. European Heath Insurance Card or E111
Now this has the same sort of importance as travel insurance and everyone should have one. It gives you an opportunity to have free health care when you are in an European country. You may never need it but if you do, you'll be thankful that you do!

3. Medication
These are usually the last things that you pack because you use it right up until you go on holiday or travel to the airport but I can assure you, it's the one thing that you'l forget to take. Make sure that if you do need to take your medication before you leave that you put it in your suitcase as soon as you're done with it so you don't forget it. It'd be disastrous if you did!

4. Mobile Phone Charger
Once again, like medication, it's one of those things that you leave til last to pack because you use it overnight to charge your phone but it's one of those things that you don't generally think of when you're packing. The worst thing is forgetting your charger and no longer having your phone working especially when your phone is your safety net if you get into trouble. If you can, make sure you have a spare and pack that beforehand so that you can charge your phone before your flight and still have it for your holiday without needing to worry.

5. Plug Adapters
If you do manage to remember your mobile phone charger, then make sure that you also remember to pack a plug adapter. Many European countries have a two pin plug whereas us in the UK use a three pin plug and if you've got all your electronics but no adapter, they would be as useful as they would be if you had forgotten them. They're quite accessible to buy in the country you are travelling but they are also quite expensive to buy especially if you have the little buggers sat at home waiting for you.

6. Passport
With the recent drama about passports taking weeks and weeks to come through and not arriving in time, it's important that you look after your passport in the run up to the holiday and don't lose it because you probably won't get a chance to replace it. And if you do keep it safe, make sure that you keep checking you have before you travel to the airport because if there is one thing that you'll forget when you're rushing around trying to remember what you've forgotten, it will be the handy dandy little book that gives you the access to fly... Don't forget it!!

I can't wait for my holiday and I know that I still need to get things such as toiletries and whatnot so maybe in one of my blogs to come, I will do a list of what you need to take on holiday.

Love you all!

Hello July

Why hello. It's July. When did that happen? I remember only writing around 15 blogs for June... half of the number of days that there were. Let's see if I can maybe write a few more this month, yeah?

This month is going to be so exciting and hopefully lots of fun things will happen and make me extremely happy. I also think a lot of cool blogs are going to come as a consequence of this month. Exciting. Let's get straight into explaining what I'm doing:

♥1st July - I went to my sister's 36th week midwife appointment and got to hear my little nephew's heartbeat. All the time that she has gone to her appointments, her little baby has been breech and transverse (across her middle) as opposed to head down. So, today, I thought I was going to get to see him because she would have had a scan if he was still breech or transverse.... But the little man had different ideas completely. He was head down and so I could only hear his heartbeat. I was sad I couldn't see his little face.

♥8th July - I am going to my new school/my new job for some training.

♥15th July - I get to meet my new little class. I'm beyond excited because come September, these will be my tiny little humans. Now that I know I will be in year 1, I keep wanting to find exciting little things that I can put in my classroom. I'm scared as anything but I'm super excited.

♥18th July - I have another training date because I will be missing the original dates as I will be on holiday and the lovely school rearranged for me so I could attend. It's all getting very real!

♥19th July - My friend from Uni is getting married. How exciting. I can't wait to go to my first proper grown up wedding. It's insane that she's around my age and already getting married!

♥21st July - WE'RE ALL GOING ON A SUMMER HOLIDAY!
Hollie, Tom and I are going to TURKEY for a week and I can't wait. But first, because out flight isn't until 8PM, Hollie and I will be going to start our holiday early at the salon for a pedicure. I've never had one before and so it'll be very interesting to see how I fair with it.

♥29th July - I come home from holiday, which I will be sad about. Boohoo!!

♥31st July - My sister's baby is due this day and I'm secretly hoping that he comes a little early (although not when I'm on holiday) so that I can squish his little cheeks early and have baby nephew cuddles. I literally am brimming with excitement. I can't wait!!
Also, on a less interesting note, I should be giving blood for my 5th time on this day!

And that's it. Within the middle, I will be having lots of dates with friends and seeing my family as well as shopping.

What are you doing? Are you looking forward to July? I am. Are your plans more exciting than mine? If they are, give me a comment below telling me what you are doing and I'll be the judge of it.

Love you all

Motivational Monday #51

I'm one of those people that does like to be by myself a lot more than most people. I've never been too needy that I always need to be in contact with someone whenever I'm alone. I m quite happy to immerse myself in a good book and forget that other people even live around me. Don't get me wrong, I do love company and sometimes I do crave it but I don't necessarily need it all the time.

But sometimes, this is a bad thing too. Sometimes because I don't necessarily need people around me, I get a little antisocial and find myself not wanting to go out. It's a little weird but I could probably find an excuse to not go out for multiple plans simply because I wanna spend the day alone on the sofa. I'm a little lazy too that doesn't bode well for being social
I'm out dog walking with my friends from Uni today but I must admit that i did have a little thought to cancel so I didn't have to move BUT I thouht about how much more I would enjoy the day if I got to spend it with my friends.

Sometimes, you need to forget about the effort it might be to do something and think about how much better you'll feel afterwards. And this relates to almost everything that you do- you may not want to get off the sofa and do some exercise rather than watching TV but instead of thinking about how much effort it is, think about how much better you'll feel after.

Just get it over and done with and do what is needed. You'll feel a lot better after. For me, this is actually being a human being that isn't lazy to be social. I'm terrible...

Have a brilliant day. Stop your excuses and get on with it ;)

Love youuuuu

I miss you

Woah. It has been an absolute age since I properly blogged and I can't believe I've waited this long to get back into it. It's absolutely crazy to think that I blogged everyday for about a year and 3 months and then the second I broke blogging everyday, I sort of gave up... I hate giving up and this last absence of blogging has been the ultimate giving up on my part.

I miss writing blogs and having people say to me "I really liked your blog yesterday!" The truth is, I've just been lazy and partly boring. It's hard to find something to talk about each day when your life isn't really that exciting. I'm not going to say I will definitely, but I am going to try and blog regularly because I miss you guys!!!
