Christmas Gifts Ideas

One of the potentially greatest dilemmas of the year is choosing Christmas presents for everyone in your family, friends and if you're lovely, colleagues. It's such a pain in the backside because you can have people that you know exactly what to get and then others where you have no clue. I personally love not knowing what I am getting for Christmas because it makes it magical and quite frankly very exciting. The surprise, however, does take a lot for me because I'm not the biggest fan of other people knowing and not me but I know it's totally worth it.

I wanted to give you guys a little heads up on some of the things that the different age groups might want this Christmas:

Children:
Children are notoriously easy because there are so many toys on the market at the moment that there literally is so much they can choose from. Plus, they love telling people what they want for Christmas and are so specific that you can literally take their word or their Christmas letter to Father Christmas and know exactly what to buy. I asked my children at school what they wanted, and here were some of the things they said:

Teksta Puppy:

Match Attax Football Cards:

Scooters:

iPad/tablet:

Teenagers:
Now, these can either be miles easier or miles harder because they don't like to tell you what they want anymore but still want presents. There are two types of teenagers: those that want money making your whole Christmas shopping easy as pie, and there are those that want clothing or jewellery which makes your shopping harder because they have their specific styles.

There is always a safe option for if you don't want to just give a whole lot of money to your teenagers and that is to buy them a couple of small presents and then give them a voucher for their favourite shop. This means that you don't have to go back to the shops after Christmas to exchange the items you bought and the hated but they still know you've thought a little about what they might want but they get to choose the final purchases.

Adults:
I find these the hardest. I think that's because adults either don't want anything or the things they do want, they've already bought themselves because they can. Unlike children and teenagers, they have a wage and they can budget to afford the things they want during the year leaving no ideas for what you could buy them for Christmas.

You have a couple of options for where you can go with buying presents for adults:
1. Things to do with their house- decorative items if they are that type of person who likes to decorate their house with quirky little items.
2. Clothing but this is risky because the last thing you want to do is offend them with an item of clothing that is too big or too small. Awkward.
3. Smelly things: This is my normal go to - anything that will make them pamper themselves; i.e. bath bombs, bath sets, perfume, perfume sets etc. This is always one of those gifts that you look at, thank for but you don't really feel special for having received it but at least you know it's better than an item of clothing you can't fit into.
4. Alcohol: This is probably a really safe bet because if you know the person and their favourite drink, they will never be unhappy with a bottle of their favourite beverage. Just make sure it's not the same thing you get every year because that just spells out lazy.

Now I don't know about you, but I'm not a fan of Christmas shopping simply because I'm not the best present buyer. I don't really know what people like, I never have and end up getting the silly, unwanted presents that people thank you for but never use or are a little disappointed with. I try really hard but I still don't get it quite right. I secretly hate this about myself and wish that I had a better sense of present buying.
Whatever you buy this Christmas, remember that if the person you're buying for is really someone who loves you, they'll be happy with receiving something and not about its monetary value or how much they'll use it. Sometimes, the simplest gifts are those that are the most effective. Don't stress about your Christmas presents and just make sure that the person you are buying for knows that you love them so!

I love you all, enjoy your Christmas shopping!
