Today, it was my first day at the primary school that I'm spending the week at. This week is called PDS (Professional Development School) and is used for us to have an extra opportunity to spend some time observing in a school. For the PGCE, you only get two placements in a school so any school time is definitely liked.
It is a lovely school with lovely children and such a welcoming atmosphere. At first, we thought we would be unwanted and taken on for the week because they had to. But they really seemed as if they loved having us there and it was brilliant. The kids were well behaved and polite. It's definitely the type of school that I would love to work at.

The day was introductory and was based around some of the stafc giving us a tour of the school and relevant information about the less taught areas of teaching i.e. marking. We weren't based in a class but that experience is going to come later in the week.
I think I'm going to have a brilliant time this week.
Note to self: don't wear brand new shoes because you WILL get blisters and they will hurt like hell :(
