Winter is Coming!

The signs of winter is coming thick and fast. And I'm not too sure whether I am enjoying the changes to the weather or not! P.s. annoyingly enough, all winter photos seem to have snow in them. Considering most of our winter comprises of rain, it makes me wonder where these stereotypes come from. Obviously not from the UK.

1. The sun is rising later.
I am getting to the station and the sun is only just lifting the veil over the sky. The sun has not yet shone right the way through the darkness and I know as the weeks go on, it will be even later that the sun rises.

2. The sun is setting earlier.
I am finding that I look out the window at about 7:30 and it's already starting to get dark. The other night I was still travelling home from uni at this time and it felt so late simply because it was so dark. It's going to get even darker when the clocks go back next week. I like winter because it does elicit all those memories of being all warm and toasty inside whilst you watch the rain bat down on the windows. But this year, I'm going to be travelling to and from school teaching and the thought of winter has become exponentially a lot less appealing.

3. It is getting colder.
I already feel the chill when I'm waiting for buses/trains before uni and after it. The daytime it is still fairly warm given the time but I know that as the weeks go on, it's only going to get more and more chilly. I do quite like it because the thought of wearing big jumpers makes me happy.

I love watching the seasons change and the trees to lose their leaves after they've changed colour and then be covered by ice and snow. But it is the old question of how cold is it going to get before we all end up hating winter before long.

I'm looking forward to it mainly because when winter is coming, it means that Christmas is almost here and that's exciting. Let's just be thankful for some of the warm days that we are having at the moment because it's Autumn still.
