31st January 2016

Hello my lovelies,

It is almost time for me to put this January blog challenge to bed, tuck in the covers and read a story to send it to a blissful sleep but before I do that, there is one last blog to be written. It is such a bitter sweet moment because I have absolutely adored doing this challenge. I have enjoyed taking the time out to write each blog, find the perfect picture and then see the success it has had in the page views. It has been a fantastic journey.

This day was titled Mirror Selfie- my mirror selfie game was below par. I detest having to find the right angle/distance from the mirror as well as eye position, hand positioning and general positioning for this to work. I knew that today I would not look very presentable in the way I looked so yesterday I took about 10 minutes trying to set up the best mirror selfie.
I have to admit that yesterday, my outfit left a lot to be admired, it was very simple and slobbish but somehow and for some reason, I loved it?!

Anway, I decided to take 2 close ups and play around with the filters on Instagram (one does not just take a mirror selfie and upload it without playing around with the colouring to make it look 10x better).
I also thought that the black and white filter sometimes hides a multitude of sins so thought I would play around with that and then ended up keeping both mirror selfies for you..
And then as it is my last blog of this picture challenge, I thought I would treat you to a mirror selfie that was further away and showed my outfit in *all of its glory*.  I don't know why, but I do kind of love this mirror selfie the most...
And that is that. It took me a while but my fear of posting mirror selfies was kind of conquered as I realised it wasn't too bad if you took the time to set them up properly... AND put a good filter on it! ;)
Well, another successful challenge under my belt. I hope that you join me again for some more challenges, reviews and general chit chat here on Little Pearl Of Wisdom.
I have enjoyed your company so much- you're all stars! Love ya

30th January 2016

It is the second to last blog of this challenge and I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed the entire journey. I do feel a little upset that it is coming to an end and have been looking for a new challenge- they are all the same days as I've done before. It's gonna take a lot of looking to find something I've not done before.

I have to say that the title of this day 'outside' is really crappy. I didn't move from my house today except to go to the shop in a hideous outfit so I quickly snapped a picture out the kitchen window... I admit, it's shit. Sorry!!!
Oh, you also get a cheeky reflection. Lucky you!!

See you tomorrow!!!! :D

This is the lock screen for my phone- yes, I made it myself. You don't like it? Tough, I absolutely love it. It's got all the colours that I love as well as the style of art that I really enjoy. It also has everyone that I love dearly on there to make me so happy every time I go to unlock my phone!
What is your lock screen of? Is it of someone you love or is it a funny picture from the Internet? Is it a standard lock screen cover that comes with the phone? Let me know!

I'm not much of a make up kind of girl... I don't have an extensive knowledge in how to apply make up nor do I buy expensive make up brands to complete my look. Mainly because not much can help my face... and I never really learned how to apply it. It also is because it takes up far too much of my time to do!

My usual make up look is basic and understated!
I use the mainly Rimmel products but thought I would give you a run down of the make up products that I use. So for foundation and concealer, these are the two that I use everyday!
I use the foundation shade 'Ivory' because quite frankly, I am pale as they come!
Again, the concealer shade that I use is 'Ivory'
To set the foundation and concealer, I use this loose powder:
To finish the look off, I use mascara and some eyeliner on my lower water line.
On days that I can be bothered, I do add a little bit of bronzer to try and contour my cheek bones and I apply this in a 3 shape from my temple, to follow the bone structure of my cheeks and down in another curve towards my chin.

Other than that, my make up is done and pretty darn simple. Anyone who wishes to teach me how to apply make up better, I would love it! But for everyday teaching, this does me fine!

27th January 2016

Today is parent's evening so I'm using that as my excuse for this being late and not even an OOTD.
Therefore, this is my OOTD from a couple of days ago... I bought a lovely pair of fitted ripped jeans and I have to say I adore them:
Love this look...

I hope you forgive me for my failure!!

Love you lots xx

25th January 2016

Right about now, as it is winter, the sun is severely missing. It does seem to shine as much as it used to and when it does, there is a cool breeze that runs through to chill you through the bone. Unfortunately, every time it is sunny, I'm either at work or busy so I can't always get a good picture of the sunshine.
Instead, I thought I would share with you a picture that I had taken previously of the sun poking through grey clouds. I think most of the time in life, it's not about counting the days of sunshine, it's about appreciating the small amounts each time and I think this can be applicable to everything in life- it's not about counting the days of happiness, it's about appreciating every single moment of happiness that will make you see how blessed and special you are.
And just to make ourselves even more depressed for the lack of sun, I thought I would share this picture of the sun in the most beautiful sunset on one of my holidays...
Oh how I wish I was in the sunshine right about now.

Never mind, Monday is almost over and then we're another step closer to the weekend. Yippeee!!post signature

24th January 2016

So, today is labelled as Flashback Friday... Unfortunately, it is not a Friday so I came up with the new name Shootback Sunday which has the exact same principle of Flashback Friday... I decided as well that I've done quite a few Throwback Thursdays' during the time I've had this blog so instead of just doing any old shootback from my past, I'm going to do a shootback to this day.

This is perfect having Timehop because it means I can look back at this day exactly 1/2/3 years ago. So, let's get started!!
The funny thing about this from last year is that the joggers that I am talking about in that blog are the exact same joggers that I am currently slobbing out in right now. No matter how fast time goes by, somethings never change! ;)

The best thing about regularly blogging is that I've found 3 old blogs on this very day- 1, 2 and 3 years ago so I am going to link them below so you can check them out from the past:

1. 24th January 2015: It's been so long!
http://nicolespearlsofwisdom.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/its-been-so-long.html

2. 24th January 2014: SleepBot Review
http://nicolespearlsofwisdom.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/sleepbot-review.html

3. 24th January 2013: I'm Free!
http://nicolespearlsofwisdom.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/im-free.html

What a Shootback Sunday! I hope you enjoyed our travels through time :)

23rd January 2016

1 week and 1 day to go before I have completed the January challenge. It has gone strangely fast whilst simultaneously feeling like it has been a lifetime.. Such an oxymoron!
Bizarrely, today is labelled as 'silly face'... unfortunately for you all, it is Saturday, I have not bothered to get ready to day because I do not feel well and am absolutely exhausted so I am going to look back through some photos on my phone to see if I can uncover some embarrassing gems for today! Aren't I kind to you?
But then I realised that I have a lot more fear than I thought in embarrassing myself in that way so I remembered a way to help myself. I quickly popped onto Snapchat and hoped that they had the filter that I was looking for- which they did. It resulted in some really silly and ugly faces that I could share with you.
Ultimate slum outfit today!
Give us a kiss ;)

21st January 2016

Oh no, not another blog where Nicole just repeats herself... *shakes head*. This blog is labelled Dream Car. Now up until last year, I didn't have a car so my dream car was a Volkswagen Polo... But last October, I looked and found my dream car, which is now proudly sat at the end of my road with a beautiful name of Poppy.

Right now, I have my dream car. I don't know what it is about the Polo but I have always wanted one...
Before I got Poppy, this was my dream car (it was still a Polo). I was at a Volkswagen dealership with my Dad and they had lots of brand new cars and I fell in love:
I'm going to play devil's advocate and say if I didn't like Polos, I would probably have this as my dream car:
Audi R8 V10 Spyder
Let me let you into a little secret, I literally googled 'dream cars' and spend about 10 minutes trying to find that for you. You're welcome!

20th January 2016

Well, I'm not necessarily a massive sport person and wouldn't say that I have a favourite sport...

I tried a few sports when I was a uni- jogging with a friend around the local park, kickboxing which I enjoyed until they started forcing us to go for a belt which I didn't want to do and finally swimming with my housemates, which I enjoyed but wasn't that great at...
Yes, I had a very attractive swimsuit. This photo was taken 1185 days ago. How mad!
It meant that I never really stuck at it unless someone forced me too- except kickboxing, I would be over that every week but then they started pressuring us as I said earlier, so I didn't go anymore.

Last week, on Friday to be exact, I got back into some exercise by going to a fitness class with my sisters, which I really enjoyed. It wasn't someone standing at the front barking orders for me to do more- it was really fun.

I've told you all this before but for the sake of this part of the challenge which is labelled Favourite sport, I will remind you all again!

It was called Clubbercise- it played old school music and the lights were turned off so you were stood in the dark. People had glow sticks (unfortunately, they ran out before we could get some, booo!) and you just danced your butt off- following a routine. It was so good and I loved it.
Oh the same pictures again Nicole? You're so unoriginal. WHO CARES! ;)
I was knackered afterwards but it made me realise that perhaps I could go again and actually become fit. I have the terrible disease where people think I'm fit because I'm skinny- let me tell you I am not!

Thank You!

I just wanted to send a big heartfelt thank you out to everyone that reads my blog. We are currently on 974 views for this month, which is the second highest blog views for one single month in the history of Little Pearls of Wisdom. That is crazy!
We have about 300 page views to go to meet and then exceed the highest amount of blog views and we already have 11 days left to meet this.

You are all incredible and astound me everyday.

I love you all!

Oooh, this is quite a hard one but whenever someone says 'favourite quote'- 2 automatically come to mind. One from one of my favourite films- Pretty Woman for no real reason but that I enjoy saying it:
Simple minded. Also, didn't realise until searching for a picture to go for the quote that they have bloody tops saying this quote on- how darn cute?!
Then my second one is a very poetic and romantic one that I absolutely adore. It's something that I aim towards:
I want that kind of love! <3

18th January 2016

This feels more like a punishment for not completing the challenge than actually completing the challenge. I never like to show myself without make up and even when I do have make up on, I always have to add a filter to further improve my unpretty face!
But, it's part of the challenge so I'll keep it nice, short and sweet- thankfully it didn't say anything about flattering lighting so here is my no filter and no make up face...
I hate it. I absolutely hate it. Whoever invented this day of the challenge obviously was a natural beauty because anyone else would not have put this kind of pain on someoe else.

Good day!
