Motivational Monday #7

Monday seems to come around quicker every week. It's always here quicker than lightning can strike in the middle of a ferocious storm!

We all know this feeling. We'd be naive if we said that life was going to be all sunshine, butterflies and rainbows every single minute of every day, where there was an unlimited supply of happiness for you. Life doesn't work that way. There are hardships for there to be happiness. Sometimes, like yesterday, we wake up and feel the whole weight of the world crushing down on us with all the obstacles in front of us blocking the sun from brightening up our day.

When I have nothing to do, I like feeling the weight on me- sometimes it gives me something to feel. That may sound weird to a lot of you but if you've ever felt numb, you'll understand that sometimes feeling intense sadness is better than nothing. It gives you a sense that you can still feel and that's all you need to get you through the day. That was a lot of rambling for something that I didn't even want to talk about but on the days where I have things to do, people to see and tasks to complete; I can't just mope around all day feeling sorry for myself, regardless how much I want to. If the sun refuses to shine, and the birds refuse to sing you a melody, you have to go and create your own sunshine and melody to help you get through the day.

That's not to say you literally go and create a pseudo-sun or start playing an instrument, but it's up to you to look for things that will brighten your day or make you smile. Whether that is a joke with a friend or a song on the radio which you just dance your way to a smile etc. It's all about creating a day where you're the happiest you can be. Be the best you you can be everyday.

You're in charge of how you feel and I'm not saying never be sad because that's unrealistic and quite frankly unhealthy. But once you have felt your sadness, don't wallow around in it until you no longer know anything else. You control how long your sadness sticks around and when you can be happy again. Don't waste your life living in the dark when the sun is much prettier to live amongst.
Choose happiness on the days where it's further from your sight than ever. Create your own happiness. You are all you need to be happy!

Be happy, smile and laugh your way through life. I'd rather wrinkles that show the years of laughter than frown wrinkles and permanent tear tracks on my face.

Life is for living both the good and the bad but don't let the bad cloud your judgement over the majority of good in the world.

Have a wonderful Monday. Start your week with a smile and a spontaneous dance.

Love to you all as always,
Nicole
