How To Choose a Bikini

As it is the summer holidays, it is prime time holiday time and where there are holidays, there are stresses over which bikini to buy. There are quite a few styles of bikinis and swimsuits out there for people to choose from and sometimes it is a little overwhelming trying to pick out the right bikini to suit your body type. I have never really understood the way in which you can disguise your body but I have been researching and have come across some handy dandy tips that I wanted to share with you guys. So this is my list of how to choose a bikini or swimsuit!

1. If you don't like your stomach:
If you are not a great fan of your tummy, the tankini is potentially the swimming costume for you. It is a mix between a two piece bikini and a full swimming costume. The beauty of this is that you can mix and match with the top and bottom like you can with a bikini but it gives you a little less skin showing to make you feel a little bit more comfortable. It allows for you to hide some of the "problem areas" but still to expose skin to tan. The beauty of a tankini is that it will highlight your waist because the small amount of skin showing between your tankini and bikini bottoms will draw in the eye.
2. For your more likeable features:
Whether this is your bum, your breasts or your stomach; you should choose brighter colours for your bikini for this area to highlight it. Not only will it highlight that particular area but it will also draw away from the areas that you like a little less. For example, if you like your bust and want to show it off, choose a bright colour or a vibrant pattern for you bikini top and then couple that with a darker colour for your bikini bottoms.
3. To add volume:
For those, like me, that do not have the most ample breasts; it can be quite daunting to put on a bikini where you feel like you don't quite sufficiently fill a cup size but this can be easily fixed. To add volume and perceived bigger breasts, having a bikini top with ruffles can really accentuate what you don't have very much of. This also works with adding a vibrant colour to draw attention to the ruffles adding volume to your bust.
4. To hide your hips:
There are so many different types of bikini bottoms out there that will help to hide any of the unflattering parts about your body. If you want to hide your hips, ultra fashionable high waisted bikini bottoms are perfect to use that will keep in all your different lumps and bumps without making you feel self-conscious.
5. To hide your thighs:
If you aren't very keen on your thighs, boyshort style bikini bottoms will give you a bit more coverage on those problematic thighs but still give you an element of baring your skin to sunbathe. It must be noted that boyshorts, although they cover your hips, they accentuate your hips and make them look a little wider so this should be taken into consideration when choosing the right bikini bottom.
6. For your bust:
Halter neck and triangle style bikinis will accentuate the bust whilst bandeau style bikini tops will make your bust seem wider. For the larger busts, it is most advisable to have a bikini with underwiring to give you a little extra support for comfortable wearing during a holiday. Thick straps are also useful it helping to give support and help to make sure everything stays in place.

I hope this guide was a little helpful for you when picking out your perfect bikini or swimsuit for you holiday. Also, I hope that if you are going away, you have a super, awesome and amazing time! It's the one time in the year that people of any size are confident enough to bare all and I love that we do. If only we all had a little more confidence at home!
